In its continuous effort of working for financial inclusion for the unbanked population as well as creating opportunities for entrepreneurship, AB Bank Limited, the very first private commercial bank of Bangladesh has taken yet another step forward to expand its Agent Banking services through Union Digital Centres (UDC) across the country and in this regard has signed an MOU with the government’s Aspire to Innovate (a2i). The Union Digital Centres of the local government will be affiliated as Agents of AB Bank to introduce banking services for marginalized and underserved communities. AB Bank’s President & Managing Director Mr. Tarique Afzal and Project Director (Additional Secretary), a2i Programme Dr. Md. Abdul Mannan signed the MOU on behalf of their respective organizations at a virtual ceremony on 3rd June 2021. Head of Relationship Management & Agent Banking Mr. Syed Mizanur Rahman of AB Bank, Mr. Md. Tohurul Hasan, Program Manager of a2i and other senior executives of both organizations were also present on the virtual ceremony.
